The experience-based, destination health park was opened in November 2011 by Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital to enhance the overall health and vitality of the communities it serves. Coming soon in Charlotte the restaurant chain has plans to open 200 stores in strategically located metro areas across the country within the next 10 years. Currently, The Big Salad can also be found in Ann Arbor, Grosse Pointe Woods, Novi, Royal Oak and Troy. Additionally, The Big Salad offers a plethora of fresh sandwich and soup options, as well as putting any salad into a wrap. Through thoughtful planning, The Big Salad chefs are equipped to prepare more than 17 million possible iceberg, romaine or spinach salad combinations for customers right at the point of purchase with a choice of 40 toppings and 30 dressings. Since opening its first location in 2008, The Big Salad has allowed people to make their meal their own. “As Small Victories includes eating a healthy meal or exercising, partnering with AL!VE is in line with our desire to help build strong communities as well as great meals,” Bornoty said. Customers are invited to share their Small Victory in person at one of its locations in Ann Arbor, Grosse Pointe Woods, Novi, Royal Oak, Troy and soon in Charlotte, as well as on The Big Salad website through social media on the company’s Facebook page or with Twitter using the hashtag #smallvictory.

The campaign promotes achievements that are realized each and every day, but often go unnoticed. Earlier this year, the health conscious restaurant launched its Small Victories campaign. In addition to offering healthy living options, both AL!VE and The Big Salad are committed to enhancing the community. “As patrons are offered a variety of ways to customize their wellness, NOURISH by The Big Salad will offer customers an avenue to customize eating – customers can come in, order what they want and how they want it and they get a healthy, reasonably priced meal designed to their tastes.” “Joining AL!VE is a terrific opportunity and a great fit for us,” The Big Salad Founder and CEO John Bornoty explained. “AL!VE is open to everyone, there are no entry fees or membership requirements, so we encourage all to come try the new, fresh, healthy options NOURISH by The Big Salad will offer our community.” “We are excited to welcome The Big Salad to AL!VE – bringing a new unique dining option to our mid-Michigan region,” said Patrick Sustrich, AL!VE executive director. Additionally, The Big Salad will offer its usual selection of fresh sandwiches, wraps and soup options. The Big Salad will add its fresh food menu to the health park’s café, offering patrons an avenue to refuel with more than 17 million possible iceberg, romaine or spinach salad combinations, right at the point of purchase, and with a choice of 40 toppings and 30 dressings.

The new location will stretch The Big Salad’s traditional menu offerings to include smoothies, fruits, specialty coffees and breakfast items.ĪL!VE provides inspiration and support for the greater Charlotte and mid-Michigan communities to transform, empower and enhance personal well-being. It will bring healthy nutrition to patrons by opening NOURISH by The Big Salad in fall 2014. The Big Salad is joining AL!VE, Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital’s experience-based destination health park in Charlotte, Mich.
